Home made hamburger

Making a homemade hamburger is simple and delicious! Here's a step-by-step guide:

 Ingredients (for 2 burgers):

-  Ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat for juiciness) – ½ lb (225g)

-  Burger buns (brioche, sesame, or potato buns work well)

Salt and pepper (to taste)

- Toppings: Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese (optional)

- Condiments : Ketchup, mustard, mayo, or your favorite sauce

- Optional extras : Bacon, avocado, fried egg, or sautéed mushrooms

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Patty:

1. Shape the patties:

   - Divide the beef into 2 equal portions (about 4 oz/115g each).

   - Gently form into ¾-inch-thick patties. Avoid overworking the meat to keep it tender.

   - Press a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent bulging while cooking.

2. Season: Generously sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.

2. Cook the Patty:

Pan-Frying (easiest method):

- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

- Add a drizzle of oil (optional; the fat in the beef will render).

- Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium (160°F internal temperature). Add cheese (if using) in the last minute to melt.

Grilling:

- Preheat grill to medium-high.

- Grill patties for 3–4 minutes per side.

Tip: Let the patties rest for 2–3 minutes after cooking to retain juices.

3. Toast the Buns:

- Slice buns in half and lightly toast them in a pan, on the grill, or in a toaster until golden (30 seconds–1 minute).

4. Assemble the Burger:

1. Spread condiments on the bottom bun (e.g., mayo on the top bun, ketchup/mustard on the bottom).

2. Layer lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, or other veggies.

3. Place the cooked patty (with melted cheese, if using) on top.

4. Add extras like bacon or a fried egg.

5. Cap with the top bun and press gently.

Tips for Success:

- Don’t press the patty while cooking—it squeezes out juices.

- Use fresh, soft buns to contrast the crispy patty.

- Customize: Try BBQ sauce, blue cheese, or jalapeños for a twist.

- Vegetarian option: Use a plant-based patty or portobello mushroom.

Enjoy your juicy homemade burger with fries or a side salad! 🍔
